WHAT IS MOUSE ASSISTANT?

“ELECOM Mouse Assistant” is software for more effectively using your mouse. Most computer mouse are equipped with special buttons and functions, but some functions are limited to browser back & forward and horizontal scrolling in Excel. However, with Mouse Assistant you are enable to assign mouse buttons to any functions as you like to customize your mouse. For troubleshooting or installation assistance, please click here.

Button Function Assignment

Create customized button shortcuts for your ELECOM mouse or trackball and assign them to the button of your choice. For example, you can create a copy-and-paste shortcut and assign it to your mouse to minimize the use of keyboard shortcuts.

Setting Up Profiles

You can save the profile of assigned functions used for each application program. When using each application program, the profile is switched automatically. For example, the profile for Word is assigned when you use Word, and the profile for Excel when you use Excel.

Presentation Mode

If you enable the presentation mode, you can switch between the normal mouse mode and the Presentation mode where you can operate the slide forward/backward. You can customize the detailed operation of buttons in the presentation mode, disable scrolling, and so on.

Gesture Function

You can assign functions for various mouse movements. A "gesture" can be created by combining up, down, right and left mouse movements. Each gesture can comprise a series of up to four mouse movements, meaning you can create and use up to about 160 gestures. Also, you can register gestures for each profile, increasing the number of combinations even further.

FAQ

Q1. It does not work well. What should I do?
A. If the Mouse Assistant does not work properly, please uninstall and reinstall it.

Q2. Is the same as the Mouse Assistant on the ELECOM Global site.
A. Yes. Click the download button on the Mouse Assistant page of the ELECOM US site to jump to the ELECOM Global site.

Q3. The cursor jumps from place to place.
A. The flying scroll may have been set." Disable" and try again.

Q4. I chose English and installed it, but the language does not switch.
A. Our Mouse Assistant (software) can be used with language conversion after installation. We will show you how to do this, so please give it a try.Open Mouse Assistant >> Select your preferred language from the language selection button in the lower left corner(See image) >> Click the OK button (the page will close automatically) >> Open Mouse Assistant again (the language should switch)

Q5. No function can be assigned.
A. Please note that if you do not press the "Apply" button, the desired functions will not be assigned.We will show you how to do this, so please give it a try.　Open Mouse Assistant >> Select the function for the button of your choice >> Click Apply >> Click the OK button (the page will close automatically).If this does not improve the situation, we recommend re-installation.

Q6. Mouse Assistant does not install or work properly.
A. If you have other mapping software or security software installed on your PC, they may interfere with each other and prevent the installation or operation. We recommend that you temporarily stop or uninstall them.
